[Rebecca L. Perry]’s attorney, J. Frederick Sinclair, told the judge that his client had already suffered from her very public arrest on April 23. He asked that Perry be swiftly granted a restricted license that would allow her to drive to and from work. [Becky J. Moore] was unmoved, imposing a one-year suspension of Perry’s license. Perry can apply to the court for a restricted license after about a month, prosecutors said. A school official said that Perry would have family members drive her to work but that she would be on vacation during most of that time. Shortly after Perry’s arrest, the Alexandria School Board voted to keep her on but shortened her contract by one year, to end June 2005, and required her to enroll in an alcohol counseling program. Board member Melissa W. Luby was in the car when Perry was stopped and recused herself from considering the matter. Source : pqasb.pqarchiver.com |
