An Arlington County judge yesterday acquitted former Washington Redskins defensive tackle Chris Mims of a charge that he was driving while intoxicated along Interstate 66 in Northern Virginia in the predawn hours of Oct. 25. However, the 27-year-old free agent, whose one season with the Redskins was marred by various injuries, still faces a charge of refusing to submit to a blood or breath test to determine his blood-alcohol content. That trial will be held April 27. District Court Judge Karen A. Henenberg, who heard almost four hours of testimony and even viewed a videotape of Mims playing defense against the Baltimore Ravens on the day after his arrest, said she believed there was “a very strong probability that the defendant was driving while under the influence.” Source : pqasb.pqarchiver.com |
