DWI arrests up 69% since unit’s return

FORT WORTH–Fort Worth police have been cracking down on drunken driving this summer by reinstating a unit devoted to DWIs. The DWI squad was resuscitated in June to increase the department’s drunken-driving arrests. Since the squad’s return, DWI arrests are up 69 percent, said Lt. Gary Gray of the traffic unit.
