A program aimed at keeping drunken drivers off Dallas streets resulted in the most driving-while-intoxicated arrests in years, police said Tuesday. “There is no doubt in my mind that we took some people off the streets (New Year’s Eve) who would have ended up in fatality accidents,’ said Lt. Mike Levi, commander of the Dallas Police Department’s DWI unit. And Dallas passed New Year’s Eve without a traffic fatality.
